Perfect for Traveling with Toothbrush

Love these toothbrush holders! They weren’t always so cute, but these are perfect for adding to a gift or throwing in a child’s stocking at Christmas.

Both my husband and I use them when traveling because they keep our toothbrushes off the sink area. I prefer this to throwing my toothbrush in a cup. I stick the holder on the mirror and I’ve never left it behind because I always see it when I am re-packing. Definitely recommend for everyone to buy one of these!

organizationhappy, Louisville, KY. March 18, 2013.

I bought the Panda one to see if it would look weird in the bathroom, but it is so cute. I’m definitely going to buy more as little gifts for people. It is fun and no one would be expecting a cute gift like this.

CPham, Los Angeles, CA. March 8, 2013.

Love It

What can I say, it is a great looking product and hygienic to boot.

shopx1, Los Angeles, CA. March 3, 2013.

Cute and Functional!

We have 6 of the beagle style ones in our house and I’ve bought them for gifts too. They are a fun way to keep your toothbrushes clean and neatly hung. And since they hang the brush by the bristle part of the brush, there’s no problem putting battery powered toothbrushes in them like traditional toothbrush stands.

Beaglegirl, Chicago, IL. December 10, 2012.

Cutest Toothbrush Holder!

I bought the giraffe toothbrush holder and I love it! It sticks to the tiles so well, I’ve only had to re-wet the suction cups once in 4 months. It’s pretty strong too, it holds my electric toothbrush and protects the bristles from germs and my cat!

bllurallthxlines, Pasadena, CA. April 3, 2012.

Adorable and Practical

I love this product. Its handfree to open and close. Good for travel and home, and it is cute as pie.

Brandee, Atlanta, GA. March 25, 2012.

Makes Brushing Teeth Fun

We got one for each of our girls (age 2 and 4) and they love them. They can easily tell which toothbrush is theirs and there’s no searching for missing toothbrushes. Both of them can easily get the toothbrush in and out. And the suction cup holds the animal up despite some pulling. The only drawback is trying to clean the inside of it is a little difficult. Rinsing the toothbrush after using it isn’t their forte, so “gunk” drips down the handle to the bottom of the holder where it hardens into a ring on their toothbrush. Easy enough to rinse off, just a little pesky.

BJRS, Maryland. March 20, 2012.

Too Cute

This solves the problem of toothbrushes sitting on the counter. No more gross cup with toothbrushes in it. Everyone who comes to the house comments on how cute these are. I have one for each kid and one for mom too.

Stepher, Cincinnati, OH. March 19, 2012.

Great Gift Idea

These were great little gifts to put in stockings for the holidays. The holder reminded the recipient that Santa wants them to brush their teeth.

Teaches490, Illinois. March 19, 2012

Easy to use. Bought as a birthday gift for a boy. He loved it!

Bunny16, Pomona, NY. March 8, 2012.

Creative Critters

Bought as Christmas presents for nieces. They’re going to love them. Perfect for busy travellers and will use at home too. Easy to use and keep toothbrushes separate. Fun!

Vermont27, Vermont. December 13, 2011.

Nifty Toothbrush Holder, Not Just for Kids

Decided to get the Panda on a lark since I was ordering a few things, and thought it’d be nifty for usage when traveling.

Easily shuts when the brush is put into place, and easily opens with a gentle tug. Sticks to my mirror quite well (which is assuredly a good thing, as other suction cup items I’ve tried to use fell off in no time.)

The head feels like it can worked off, so if there’s any adults weary about purchasing one due to being too childish, you can just yank the head off and have a black and white brush holder. (however, if a child yanks the head off, and wants it replaced, it’s a difficult task. So far I’ve only managed to get it to rest on top of the panda.)

Taaron, TX. October 24, 2011.

These are so cute hanging on the bathroom mirror. I have the dinosaur and the giraffe. They bring a little bit of fun and whimsy and serve an important function – to keep the toothbrushes covered and accessible.

TazVal, MS. February 26, 2011.

I Like

It doesn’t fall off the mirror like most suction cup holders. Keeps my toothbrush clean at the ranch. No telling what crawls around when your gone.

OrganizedChaos2010, Houston, TEXAS YALL. February 21, 2011.

The Suction Cup Actually Works

We have the giraffe for my 15 mo old and the dino for my 3 year old. We have them installed on the bathroom mirror so the kids can get them out and put them away themselves. The 15 mo old loves to brush her teeth so this thing gets quite the workout. They have not yet managed to pull them off the mirror yet (since getting them as stocking stuffers at christmas) despite lots of tugging.

The little doors open easily when they pull on the toothbrush handle and it closes with an exciting snap! when the toothbrush is pushed back in. The only difficulty is when it gets accidentally closed before the brush gets put back in. There is a tiny tab on the door to open it, but my daughter has a hard time with it and complains when I do it.

These holders are cute and colorful, keep the toothbrushes off the sink (and floor!) and allow the kids to help put things away.

Miss, Denver, CT. February 15, 2011.

Toothbrushes within Reach

This was great to stick to the wall so my toddlers could reach their own toothbrushes and put their own toothbrushes away. (They were crawling up on the bathroom counter in precarious positions in order to put their toothbrushes away before we got these.)

The kids can take ownership of their toothbrushes – my daughter’s brush is always in the panda, my son’s is always in the dog.

The downside is the damp air inside the dark animal body – the toothbrushes don’t dry as quickly as if they were out in the open like a traditional toothbrush holder. I have to clean them often to keep on top of mold growth & toothpaste build-up inside.

MNTwinMom, Minneapolis, MN. February 1, 2011.

Great for kids

Just bought this for my 5 year old son. It is great because it sticks to the mirror. If you are in need of space saving ideas this works great to just get one more thing off of the bathroom counter.

AColoradoShopper, Westminster, CO. January 23, 2011.

As Shown

Looks exactly as I thought it would (bought it online) based on the picture and description. I think it will be well received – it is a stocking stuffer for Christmas.

MimiL, Columbus, OH. December 15, 2010.

Cute and Functional

Encourages the kids to put away their toothbrush each time. And easy to pop into a tote for travel.

cb418 Troy, MI. December 14, 2010.

This is a super cute way to hold a toothbrush and keep it clean.

National Children’s Dental Health Month and My Flipper

Posted by Flipper Museum On July - 8 - 2013Comments Off on National Children’s Dental Health Month and My Flipper

Mommy Katie
February is National Children’s Dental Health Month, and to get the kids excited about their dental hygiene, I was sent a couple of the very adorable and fun My Flipper’s to review. I know that with my kids, it is not that they do not like to brush their teeth, it is that they have to be reminded on a regular basis to do so. So when I find products that will make the remembering to brush teeth ordeal a easier one, I like to share the product with others.

With the Flipper, I have them hanging up above the sink, so when my kids go to wash their hands, they will see their toothbrushes in their Flipper and then remember to brush their teeth. I also like that with the Flippers that we were sent, they are easy to open and close, so storing the toothbrushes is easy and getting them out to use is easy as well!

Also, when they use the Flipper, I know that they are storing their toothbrushes and they are keeping them clean and hygienic. There are so many Flippers to choose from, so you are sure to find a fun one that your kids can enjoy as well. Check out the Flipper online store today and also take advantage of a great discount when you use the code ‘dentalhealth‘ at checkout!

Flipper - All Over The World

Flipper – Bathroom Protection by Tonia

Unorganized Mommy of 3
So, are you like me and have the toothbrush in one of those holders sitting on the counter? The brush totally exposed to everything flying around it? Yup, thought so! I never really thought about it because this is where my toothbrush was growing up. But, think about it – how many germs get splashed on the counter from the sink, and from the toilet (if it is right beside your counter) and when you clean! Yuck!

This is where Flipper comes in! This is my daughter’s flipper – she is really into Hello Kitty right now. The belly opens, where you put the toothbrush to keep it protected. And, on the back are two suction cups to attach to the mirror or tile. I actually took it apart to see how it worked and to see how “kid proof” it was. And it was very easy to put together. If your kids are like mine, they like to “disect” things to see how they work.

Hello Kitty Frog

Flipper meets ADA and CDC guidelines, which include, storing your toothbrush upright, it allows your brush to dry before next use, and makes sure your brush doesn’t touch others for cross contamination of germs. The design protects it from the germs floating trough the air It is also recommended to clean your Flipper once a month, which can be done in hot, soapy water – or in the dishwasher. Yes, it is dishwasher safe!

Flipper Hello Kitty Frog

In the Flipper, the brush is up off the counter and covered – protected from the germs that splash around. It is very easy to use. First, to open the flipper for the first time, there is a tab you can push to make it open, then you insert the toothbrush and push back. To take the toothbrush out, all you do is grab the handle of the brush and pull toward you, the Flipper will open. To return it, just put the toothbrush back in the opening, while holding onto the handle and push back gently and it will close again.

They have several different designs, for kids and adults! Not only do they have these for toothbrushes, they also have them for razors as well.

Check out everything on their website.  Also be sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter.

Disclosure: I recieved the above product free for review purposes. All opinions are always 100% my own.

Playdate Crashers: Flipper Toothbrush Holder Review by Krista

Posted by Flipper Museum On July - 3 - 2013Comments Off on Playdate Crashers: Flipper Toothbrush Holder Review by Krista

Playdate Crasher
I don’t want to freak you out, but your bathroom is filthy.

It’s not that you don’t do a great job cleaning it, it’s just that bathrooms are gross. Think about all that happens in there. Wait, scratch that. Let’s not think about it, because really? Yuck. We’ve discussed before how yucky bathtub toys are, but today let’s focus on an item that is also exposed to disgusting germs AND THEN GOES INTO YOUR MOUTH. Uh huh. Your toothbrush.

Flipper Toothfairy

Where do you keep your toothbrush? Do you leave it sitting out on your counter or maybe in one of those nice little toothbrush holders? Um, did you know that fecal matter is found on toothbrushes if they’re kept in a bathroom? Yeah…And even Mythbusters investigated this and confirmed it. (And if you’re really curious about this “poop germs on your toothbrush” thing, here’s an article from The Straight Dope about it.) Basically, your toilet is spewing filth around your bathroom and surrounding areas every time you flush.

So what can you do? Short of locking yourself in a clean room and never seeing the light of day, you need to of course clean your bathroom (and the rest of your house) regularly, but now there’s a simple product that will help shield your toothbrush from everyday germs and general yuckiness.

The Flipper toothbrush holder attaches to your bathroom mirror and holds your toothbrush inside! It easily opens when you pull the toothbrush handle toward you when it’s time to brush and when you push the toothbrush back into the Flipper, it closes around it. (Click here to see a quick video demo of how the product works!) I picked one up at the ABC Kids Expo this year and we’ve been using it for several weeks — We love it!

It’s super simple to use, is dishwasher safe, and solves a problem! Flipper toothbrush holders also meet every guideline for toothbrush care that has been established by the Center for Disease Control and the American Dental Association! They even can be used as a travel toothbrush holder.

Flipper toothbrush holders come in a variety of styles: animals, dinosaurs, puppies, Hello Kitty, NFL teams, and the modern-looking but not cutesy-cute Bean. Flipper also makes razor holders! They are all about $7.00 or less and can be purchased at MyFlipperUSA.com or you can search their website’s store locator for a retailer near you. You can also purchase them at Amazon.com (if you use the affiliate link box on PlaydateCrashers.com, a % of the sales goes to keep PlaydateCrashers.com going!), all Babies R Us stores and select Toys R Us and Giant Eagle stores.

These functional and cute toothbrush holders would be a perfect stocking stuffer for Christmas this year!

Teach Your Kids About Hygiene with the Flipper

Posted by Flipper Museum On June - 3 - 2013Comments Off on Teach Your Kids About Hygiene with the Flipper

Hello Kitty Toothbrush HolderHere is something really gross that I bet you didn’t know: every time you flush the toilet droplets of contaminated water spray into the air and land on bathroom surfaces and items on the countertop like toothbrushes. I just found this out but luckily I have protection: The Flipper Toothbrush Holder, a unique, easy-to-use toothbrush holder.

I recently received the Hello Kitty Flipper and gave it to my six-year-old daughter to try out. She figured out immediately how to use is and is now very aware of not leaving her toothbrush out in the open. The Flipper opens when you gently pull the toothbrush handle and closes automatically when you put the toothbrush in. You can view a demo here.

The Flipper is vertical so whatever water is left on the toothbrush just trickles down and doesn’t stay on. It has suction cups on the back which attach easily to tiles, glass or the bathroom mirror. Even my adult-sized toothbrush fits perfectly in it, not that I would ever consider using a Hello Kitty toothbrush holder (ahem).

The Flippers are so affordable you can get one for each member of your family (and they also make great stocking stuffers). For adults you can get the Bean or the mini NFL helmets toothbrush holders as well as razor holders in solid colors (white, pink and blue).

You can purchase the Flipper Toothbrush Holder here for $5.98 and well as on the site.

I was not compensated for this post. I received a sample.

How I Store My Children’s Toothbrushes

Posted by Flipper Museum On June - 1 - 2013Comments Off on How I Store My Children’s Toothbrushes

How I Store My Children Toothbrushes

In my house, I have two bathrooms. One is in the master bedroom and the other one is for the children and guests to use. I have three children and I didn’t want to have the toothbrushes put on the countertop or in a toothbrush holder. The toothbrush holder would keep the toothbrushes organized but it would still leave them exposed to the elements and I didn’t want that. My children are all under the age of ten so keeping them where they could reach their toothbrush was important to me. If they were older, I’d keep the toothbrushes in the medicine cabinet.

I was food shopping one day and I had to buy toothpaste. I was in the toothpaste aisle and came across these cute animals that held toothbrushes. They get suctioned to the mirror or any flat surface and they hold the toothbrushes. You push the toothbrush in and it closes when you do. To get your toothbrush out of the holder, just pull it out. They are simple to use and provide a clean environment for the toothbrushes. They certainly minimize the germs that could get on the toothbrushes.

My first round of toothbrush holders lasted about a year. My husband decided to sterilize them and did so by boiling them in hot water. The pieces didn’t hold their shape and he wasn’t able to put them back together. I would not suggest to use my husband’s way to clean the toothbrush holders. I clean them in a way that lets them keep their shape. I asked my husband not to clean them his way anymore. I wash them in hot soapy water and dry them off with a towel. I clean the little crevices with a q-tip and that works just fine. I put the animals back on the mirror and they suction again with no problem.

My supermarket sells out of them pretty quick but I went online and bookmarked the website just in case the supermarket doesn’t get them in again. The website is http://www.myflipper.com/. They have an extensive selection of choices but I don’t think you can purchase them directly from their website. Check for them at your local big name food store or at the big box retailers. I love the toothbrush holders and so do my children. They are easy for them all to use and they stay suctioned to the mirror.

Flipper Toothbrush Holder Reviewed by ‘From PDX with Love’

Posted by Flipper Museum On May - 31 - 2013Comments Off on Flipper Toothbrush Holder Reviewed by ‘From PDX with Love’

Our house is fairly big, with two full bathrooms and a guest bathroom. The master bathroom has two sinks and there is enough space for both my husband and I. The boys’ bathroom, on the other hand is quite small and, well, I can barely put anything around the sink:

(c) Ana Sophia

After using a toothbrush holder I realized that with two boys I needed more space. So I had to improvise. See that green guy on the mirror? Well, he is a very cute, very lovely Flipper toothbrush holder!

(c) Ana Sophia

This guy was sent to use form Flipper, an online store with great and fun toothbrush holders for every single little kid out there.

Since I have boys I decided to go with a cute green dinosaur ($6.99), and his name is Gigano. He reminds me of the toothbrush holder I used to have when I was a little girl. Oh good childhood memories!

I used to have a black penguin. And now that I think about it…I wonder where it went. Maybe I grew out of it. But honestly, I wouldn’t mind having one now! And with the vast selection that Flipper has to offer I could probably just get one for myself. Like, a football helmet if they had a Seahwaks one. Or how about a panda? Or Hello Kitty!?

(C) Ana Sophia

But, back to the review: what I like the best of having a toothbrush holder, besides it saving me a lot of space on my boys’ bathroom counter, is that it is super easy to use!! You don’t even have to use your fingers to open it! Simply pull the toothbrush out and it will open. Brush your teeth and push the toothbrush back in. Presto!

This is a great space saver and I truly recommend it!

Dear readers, seasons greetings! We recently came back from the 2011 IDA Congress in Taipei where global thought leaders expounded on the topics of design, urban planning and consumption culture. What stood out for us was a renewed sense of how in this milieau of behavioral economics, products and technology are increasingly embracing human nuances, working with rather than against our quirks and habits. The theme for this issue is ‘Design for Humans’. We’ll share why a humanistic approach may just be the key that turns automatic into auto-magic. Read more.
